Apogee Engineering is seeking a Software Engineer to provide technical support to the Warfighters Edge (WEdge) Advanced Development Laboratory located on the campus of the USAF Academy in Colorado Springs, CO. The Software Engineer will provide quality services and assist with the development, integration, and research of software solutions to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our nation's defense.

What You Will Be Doing:
Software development and analysis of solutions and code written by outside organizations to include current products. This will include:
Interfacing with WEdge staff and other stakeholders supporting applied research in operationally oriented mission areas.
Participating in periodic meetings to maintain situational awareness on WEdge tasks and activities.
Providing verbal situation reports on the status of projects as requested.
Extend network architectures to the battlefield edge to achieve a fully connected information environment
Work at implementing artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies with unmanned systems (aka drones)
Travel (10%) is anticipated within the CONUS in support of WEdge Software Innovation Laboratory.
What you'll need to have:
Accredited Bachelor's degree in software engineering or related field
Experience with Object Oriented Programming Languages (Java, C#, etc.)
Experience with Markup Languages
Knowledge of Software Source Control Repositories
Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of products
Active Secret clearance
How you can stand out:
Advanced accredited degree in software engineering or related field
Operational Air Force experience in aviation, aviation support, communications, electronics, or intelligence
Familiarity with JMPS, DoD mission planning tools, and WEdge products.
Knowledge of desktop, server, and computer networking configuration and troubleshooting (Switches, Routers, Virtual Machines, etc)
Experience with GitHub preferred
